Hi
I am really struggling to find some jazz-style music (not improvisation, just reading) for clarinet at around at grade 8+ standard. I want to practice my reading/playing skills but aren't particularly fond of classical music. Ideally, I'd like a book with a CD. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Try www.astute-music.com they have got some good volumes of jazz type pieces for solo clarinet, they've also got samples of some of the pieces for you to listen to

How about "Gershwin by Special Arrangement" by Carl Strommen. These are jazz arrangements of Gershwin songs with a written out improvisation and CD backing track. It says something like grade 4 standard on the back of the book but the improvised sections are definitely much harder than this - I've seen a couple of the songs (for saxophone though) on a grade 8 jazz exam list somewhere (London College I think).
Doesn't come with CD but one of the movements from Horovitz Sonatina for clarinet is jazzy and a great piece.
