Hi i'm about grade 6-7 standard on piano but I really want to do a Bach piece. What one would be good, preludes, two, three part inventions etc... It should be challenging (ost Bach pieces are I suppose) Thanks

I would try some suites, I love the third french suite, it's my favourite Bach. You may also want to take a look at P & F books.

i liked Sinfonia no. 3 in D, it was in the g7 list for 2001-2002. Sinfonia 2 is oso nice. Invention 13 in A minor is nice too.INvention 15 in B minor. And of course the preludes nd fugues.al of them of great and wif dfferent technical dificulty but i tink they r all challenging enuf afor a g6 and g7 musician.

Ha! Ha !. The upper pieces were appeared in G.6 ABRSM Examination(S. 2 is not included)
I think "The Well-Tempered Clavier" may be too difficult for G.6 & 7.
2 & 3 part Invention are quiet interesting but contains some tricky skill.
Now I face the biggest problem about Fuga in C# major (BWV 848).
Although I practice 3 voice parts respectively,
I get trouble when I mix up together.(Very slow tempo)

Why not try the Partitas Nos 1-3, challenging but not too difficult for G6-7,

I can recommend a book that is about Grade 6 standard: "Step by Step Bach" by Konemann Music. This has 30 or so selected Bach pieces, some are easier than Grade 6 standard, but it's a good selection of different things. I think the Well Tempered Clavier is too difficult for Grades 6-7, and a lot of the movements of the Partitas are tricky too.
