I have a student who has just started learning the grade 3 peices, and group A and B are going great, but she is not keen on the group C options! Can anyone help with where to find copies of the alternatives and would you have any idea what they are like? Dont really want to spend alot of money on these and find they are not much better for her!

Thanks in advance!!

As you know the lists are on this website. I've found searching on youtube almost always gives me an example of someone playing a piece I want to hear.

The ABRSM web site has 4-6 bar snippets of each piece from their CD recording so it gives you a feel.

Frankly, I LOVE the Grade 3 C selection - it's the best C selection of any of the grades. I've got 3 pupils doing grade 3 and they've each chosen a different one, which is great for me, and they're really into them too (the chinese piece is my favourite).

I love the chinese 'C' piece but am struggling to get pupils to feel the same way about it - I've had one pupil start to learn it and now backing out of it - so I'm interested to explore the alternative options... thanks for the tip about the abrsm site offering snippets of each one... smile.gif

Same here! Mine settled for Quajira instead.
