Hi,
I have a problem!! I do flute lessons through a music trust and am entering for Grade 8 this term. The problem is, I can't enter for my exam with the music trust, as the two days they are offering for the exam, I'm away. Therefore, I tried to enter through my school, but I couldn't as their sessions were booked up! My ex-piano teacher owns a test center, so i asked her and she told me to enter myself. The problem is, I need an applicant number and the deadline is tommorrow! The website isnt letting me apply for one, Its saying that I can't unless its two weeks before the closing date for a session, which it is! Ahh please help!!!
Thanks!

The password thing is correct - it takes a few days to set up I guess.

I think the phone call is your best bet - first thing tomorrow. The office staff are pretty helpful, so I would give it a go. You will need some way of paying the entry fee of course. Best of luck!

Why can't the music trust not enter you as a candidate in an external centre? They should be able to enter you separately at any centre of your choice.

If you ask they probably will do this, our Music Service staff are very helpful in that way. It's more common these days as Jazz exams can't always be done on special visits.

I would try the AB first thing this morning and see what they say. They are generally very helpful but I don't know what they can do on this occasion as the online entry date is already a week later than the paper date.

If your ex-teacher has online application set up could she just enter you?

Otherwise, phone her and ask her to give you the contact details for other teachers who are entering likely to be entering locally.
Phone around, explain your situation and ask, if at all possible, if they could put you through their online application.
Take the cheque round straight away and a little something to say thank you.

Good luck.
