Either make it an indoor party, or make it an umbrella party, or a "Wellybration" !!! hahaha, we had one once, summer bbq planned, woke up, pouring with rain...told everyone to come anyway, but bring wellies and rain coats etc... it turned out to be brilliant fun biggrin.gif and anyone who wanted to stay indoors (i.e. grandparents etc) stayed indoors and we opened the patio doors so they didn't miss out, and all the kids loved being allowed to splash about in puddles and pouring rain...it ended in everyone getting a little bit silly and the big kids amongst us having a roll in the mud tongue.gif hehehe, probably the best bbq we've ever had!!

I went to a barbeque in the rain but they had a marquee so it was sort of indoors.

There was also a bonfire which kept the teenagers busy for hours burning anything they could find ( ohmy.gif wacko.gif ) until the under-tens discovered (the vet showed them!) how much fun it was to throw balloons on the flames!

There were hundreds of balloons so that kept them going for a while. All the children abandoned their coats and ran barefoot and looked like drowned wild rats; all high on sweets and coke.

The hostess wore a gorgeous designer dress and green wellies and I drank a tad too much red wine and joined in with the band even though I don't sing and didn't have an instrument to play (I have no idea what I was doing because it wasn't singing blink.gif ).

Oh well. I think the rain was the icing on the cake really.. or rather it washed all the icing off.... laugh.gif tongue.gif

I voted 'you cook outside' although for me what it should have read was 'your husband cooks outside' because that's what happens laugh.gif (his choice, I hasten to add).

I voted to cook inside, because that's what I'd do in any case. Don't mind eating outside, but not keen on BBQs, having had food poisoning from under-cooked sausage.

However, we have some hardy friends who do BBQs (and I do eat their food because they cook it very well, OH describes it as incinerated but that's an overstatement) and even if it's freezing cold and raining they put up the gazebos and we're out there, pretending it's summer. Brrrr. laugh.gif

Carry on regardless. We always have a mixture of indoor and outdoor people at our barbecues. And it always rains.

I'm very pleased we aren't the only family/friends that carry on despite the weather biggrin.gif
