Full Version: Removing The Fluff From Forum Pages
Forums > ABRSM > Forums Cafe
YetAnotherPianist
With the new forum layout, on every single page there's a whole screen's worth of fluff before actually getting to the posts one wants to read. Whilst it is important to know that we have zero items in our basket and suchlike, it does rather get in the way.

So, here's my three-step way to remove all this fluff from each page:

1) Install the GreaseMonkey add on for Firefox ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748, and click Add to Firefox )
2) Restart Firefox
3) Go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/49332, hit Install, and confirm installation of the script

Now, whenever you go to www.abrsm.org/forum/... the fluff will be removed from the top of every page, saving you having to scroll down so much. Yay smile.gif.

Or you could just use a duster...

I was about to say - what do you do if you don't have firefox - but I think I can guess the answer... ph34r.gif

Now that I'm doing such a lot of surfing on a little netbook, that advice has come at an excellent time - thanks, YAP biggrin.gif.

Excellent thanks for making the script

Saves me wasting effort scrolling down!

Also as the new logo is *red* wouldn't it make sense for the forum stuff to be red too?

The Forum is an "off the shelf package" and so the look of the posting part is pretty limited, without a huge amount of time and effort. Personally, I'd hate red. ill.gif

And very hard on the eyes that would be. Red is an aggressive colour.

Yes, but it can be skinned, so there is no excuse on that front.
