Cor Blimey! Just heard that I passed my G5 Clarinet 113 marks this afternoon. Not the best mark ever but a pass is a pass!
I thought I had failed having completely mashed up my scales and the sight reading, urrhhh. Thanks B13 you have served me well. Should I treat myself to a new clarinet.....?
Congratulations tooty!
Did my grade 5 clarinet yesterday. Major fluff in the Mendelssohn Spring Song - total embouchure failure, flurry of squeaks, stopped dead, exchanged glance of horror with accompanist, thought 'shall I burst into tears and run out of the room, or shall I just pick it up and carry on as if nothing's happened?' Chose the latter option, my lovely teacher picked up the accompaniment, and we finished with no further drama... maybe the nice examiner will give me credit for being totally shameless?
Frensham Pond went just as I would have wished. Scales, sight-reading, aural all fine. Study not too bad.
Had thought about upgrading my clarinet if I got a distinction, but think my money is safe in the bank now!
