Wow - I've had visitors for the last few days so haven't had time to be on the forums, but it's great to see there are so many people doing exams.

There seem to be a lot of Theory and Clarinet enteries, but maybe I'm just biast in what I notice as I read through the list. Good luck to everyone - I hope all your practice is going well (and you've been able to spend more time on it than I have!)

I think this is everyone so far!

I'm doing; Telemann: Largo and Vivace from Sonata in Bb, Cecilia McDowall: Hornpipe and Bullard: Baroque Flute. I've barely practiced though, so I must pull my finger out from now on. What pieces are you looking at?

Sounds nice smile.gif I was thinking about doing the De Fesch, Arrieu Sonatine and the other one from 50 for flute. But I think I might change my mind before long, I always like lots of the List A pieces.... laugh.gif

I was going to do my Grade 3 piano but have been pursueded (sp!) to postpone it until next session so I'm exploring repertoire at the mo which I'm enjoying.

My list is pretty long. ohmy.gif

I'm taking LRSM Flute Performance, and accompanying (on flute) katyjay's FTCL Singing.

No 3 son is taking Grade 8 alto sax.

My pupils are taking (all flute):

2 x Grade 1
2 x Grade 2
4 x Grade 3
1 x Grade 4
2 x Grade 5
3 x Grade 6
4 x Grade 8
1 x DipABRSM.

And I wonder why I feel a mite stressed at times. biggrin.gif

I've been looking at the Grade 3 flute pieces, but don't even have a teacher, and after the hash I made of Grade 1 guitar a few years ago, I don't think I'll be taking any exams any time soon (if ever).

Meanwhile, my daughter has her grade 6 clarinet this term. She's only just finally settled on her pieces so we're hoping for a nice late date. We asked for w/c 6 July so fingersCrossed.gif

I keep meaning to reply to this one - I'll be doing my Grade 5 piano at the end of June - or later if my teacher has her way and can change it!

I think Barry's going to take a well-earned break from his studies for a while...but he might keep the old Kod ticking over...

I'll leave him to say what he had to do but if you'd rather, b-c, I can tell altoclef3.

I fully intend not to make my Kodaly go rusty Cyrilla : after one more lesson this term, I intend to just have an occasional lesson to ensure I can still do everything/drip feed me the occasional new bit of information.

Any next level exam (Intermediate is the next step) will be a medium/long term aim.

I did all sorts, let's see if I can remember everything...

* Part-singing, some from music, some from memory

* Singing pentatonic scales with letter names/sol-fa/both

* Singing a tune in sol-fa while playing a second part on the piano (x 3)

* Singing pentatonic scales while playing them on the piano, but in canon (ie start singing the do pentatonic scale, then when I reach 'me', start playing the pentatonic scale on do.)

* Singing a pentatonic song from memory, using both lyrics and sol-fa

* Conducting

* Use of tuning fork (didn't do very well at that bit rofl.gif )

Did I remember everything?...
