Full Version: Well That Made My Sunday Morning!

I got up this morning to find an email from one of my students with a piano piece attached that he wrote last night for me! It's rather lovely and I felt so moved by this.

He's a 14 year old who started with me a few months ago and has recently started composing for his GCSE music at school. As he's only a relative beginner on piano, (he's taking grade 2 in July) this has come as a big surprise, because the music he's writing is quite advanced. To add to this, he has quite a serious illness that requires regular hospital treatment, but he takes it all in his stride and never complains.

I intend to play his piece at our concert in June, although I'm going to keep it as a surprise for him.

Just wanted to share this with you all. smile.gif

I'm just hoping that he doesn't read this forum! And then I won't put it on the printed programme for our concert, but will tell my other students & families about it before I play it. smile.gif
