I currently have the cheap stagg electric violin and i'm looking at getting a better one at some point this year. I never used to play it but have played it loads of the last few weeks and have been asked to play it in concerts and stuff so i could do with a slightly better one laugh.gif
The stagg was only like £90...! I'm thinking if anyone knows of any around £200-£300? I can't really afford a very expensive one as obviously i concentrate on acousitc violin etc. so it'd be a waste of money to spend loads on an electric one. I don't need a fantastic one - just one that's better than the stagg!
I looked on the internet and it seemed that there were only 2 price ranges - £150 and below or £650 and above! I can't seem to find an in between sad.gif

if you want something that's good, you really are looking at £700 or more (Bridge, Skyinbow, Yamaha, etc)--or maybe £500 second-hand. what exactly are you looking for from an electric--if you just need amplification, have you considered having a good-quality pickup or mic fitted to your acoustic violin? you should be able to find a fairly decent one for less than a good electric.

Nah i definately want an electric violin rather than a pickup on my acoustic. It just wouldn't be the same =/
I do really, really, really want a bridge one wub.gif But they're like £650... and i've just spent £2000 on a new acoustic violin and am in need of a new bow for it! I could probably only afford up to £400 for an electric
