Full Version: Children's Music Program?

Don't you think it would be so cool if there was a musical children's program?

Like SMArt, or the animal programs.

They could focus on a new instrument every week, and invite children in who play the instrument to talk about it

and have performances from pros or children in the studio.

and kids could send in their compositions laugh.gif

I would watch that if it was on...

Oh yeah, sorry about the terrible username. My name's really Robyn but bobziekins has been my typical username since I was about 9, and I can't remember anything else blush.gif . I can't figure out how to change it without creating a whole new account altogether...

There used to be an excellent programme on Radio 3 called Making Tracks which alas went by the wayside some years ago.

You can try PMing a mod and asking very nicely for them to change it for you. They probably won't, but it could be worth a try. Otherwise, you could put something along the lines of 'Please call me Robyn' in your signature and people will gradually catch on to it. smile.gif

The first option sounds a bit scary. But I've used your other suggestion, thanks biggrin.gif

I can't imagine you as anything else other than 'sbhoa' on the forum! Changing it now would confuse me! laugh.gif

Back on topic : something I've mentioned before on this forum is the 1980s TV programme 'Atarah's Music', presented by flautist Atarah Ben-Tovim, which took one orchestral musical instrument each week, and based a whole programme around it, including a story, a performance and suchlike.

I only remember the one character : unsurprisingly, it was the clarinet. It was called Clarence. biggrin.gif

I don't think this programme has ever been put on video/DVD, perhaps it's time we asked ITV biggrin.gif

Was Atarah as mad on the telly as in real life?! biggrin.gif

I wish there'd have been a music programme on when I was a kid! In fact if there was one on now I'd probably watch it anyway! laugh.gif
