Hello forum wave.gif

I'm very pleased to announce that andante_in_c (flute), katyjay (soprano) and me (clarinet) will be performing in a charity recital on Saturday 11th July, 7:30pm, at Christ Church, Gally Hill Road, Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire smile.gif

Theme will be 'Dogs, Birds, Sheep and All That Jazz', and will include music by Delibes, Doppler, Catherine McMichael, Roussel, Schubert, Rutter, John Dankworth and others. smile.gif

If you can come along, it'd be great to see you there! biggrin.gif

Tempting. Very tempting!

Whilst Fleet is easy to get to from here, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it as one of my nieces has her first birthday that day, so there may well be cake to eat a party to go to, but if timings allow, I'll probably come smile.gif

If I'm home in time from being a leader on a camp (finishes that afternoon), I will be there!!

Ooh, quite near me! yay.gif I've put it on the calendar, but as of now am not quite sure what is happening as it's on the birthday of a close friend and we may be helping to celebrate. I'll definitely come if we're free.

Which charity are you doing it for?

it's to raise money for an extension to the church hall, so that more community groups can meet smile.gif

It's my Mum's birthday too - she and Dad are coming to the gig, so there may be some cake left....

I look forward to hearing how it goes.

Sadly I'm playing in a concert in the Midlands that evening so won't be able to experience it sad.gif

If I'm not up to much (I am at the Renault WRC the weekend before but that's all I can think of so don't think I am) then I might be interested.

Barry - you don't half get around! Does your car have moon mileage yet? tongue.gif

OK I'll keep an eye on my calendar. Is it a tickets on the door thing? I could probably give Barry a lift back if I do go seeing as he lives about 5 minutes drive away from me tongue.gif

Tell us all about it later Barry... What's the programme? (Haven't read all the thread)

Hope it went well!!!! smile.gif
andante_in_c
Thanks DawnF!

The programme includes clarinetty things like John Dankworth's Suite for Emma and Schubert's Shepherd on the Rock, as well as some songs for flute, clarinet voice and piano and a few flutey things and jazzy numbers. biggrin.gif

I'm first back - virtue of living half a mile from the venue. smile.gif

It seemed to go really well: a reasonable audience for a chamber gig and they looked as if they enjoyed themselves.

Thanks to Deborah and Husband, sbhoa and Solari for keeping the Forums end up in the audience and travelling considerable distances to join us. Much appreciated. smile.gif

And a big thank you to katyjay and barry-clari for volunteering their services to help our local fundraising campaign. it looks as though we've raised well over £300 tonight. smile.gif

Just got in, dropped Barry off on the way smile.gif

I decided against going to the pub for last orders and am relaxing with a nice bottle of Beck's now at home (nothing like spending the evening with a bubbly blonde!) smile.gif The M25 was shocking, I thought I was out at sea or something with all the spray!

Anyhow, on topic... That was really great! I enjoyed that tonight and it was definitely much different to what I'd normally go to listen to in a concert. Thanks to all involved for putting the effort in to entertain everyone - all 4 of you were excellent smile.gif

IPB Image

As I mentioned, I am also now convinced that Barry can breathe through his ears....

Oh and it was nice to meet some fellow mites as well smile.gif If my friend hadn't dropped out and had come along with me, I might not have stuck out like a sore thumb so much wink.gif I'll moan at her tomorrow for preventing me from having an air of mystery tongue.gif
katyjay
Well, I've had a good night's sleep and chance for my voice to recover.

It was a really fun evening, and I enjoyed every minute of it biggrin.gif

Many, many thanks to Andante-in-C for setting the gig up, and to her and Barry-Clari for being such fun to work with biggrin.gif

Also thanks to the Forumites who came to cheer us on, it was great to see you.

It's great to know we raised a nice sum for a good cause too biggrin.gif

That seems to sum it up very nicely : a good audience and it was a fun gig. smile.gif Thanks katyjay and andante for being such good company in the gig, and for all the audience for coming. And thanks too Solari for the lift home, the weather late last night could best be described as 'a bit damp', and it saved me getting rather wet...

And over £300 raised, that's really good news! yay.gif

Thanks again everyone! smile.gif
