Full Version: Piano Rental?

Hi

I am considering starting piano lessons soon. I am an adult learner (26) with no real musical experience apart from the odd play with a guitar.

I was thinking of renting a piano to start off with. There are two main reasons for this. (1) I may be moving to the US in around a year. So having a huge piano to deal with wouldn't be ideal. Which also rules out buying one on some kind of pay monthly agreement. (I also don't really have a spare £3000 lying around so I couldn't really buy one outright and then sell it.) (2) I might hate learning piano! I'm 99% sure that will not happen. It has been my dream for years, but you know, strange things happen.

Has anyone else rented before? Did you have good/bad experiences? Does anyone know a good place to rent from? Do local music stores rent them?

Thanks

Dan

Have a look here - not a huge response, but at least it's fairly recent
