Hi
Can anyone help? I used to keep my Kawai digital piano in my study and as it was getting surrounded by files, I've just moved it into the lounge. Having plugged everything back in in the correct place, it isn't working!
I have tested the socket and the plug fuse. We have tested the AC adapter and get a 19v reading. I can't think what on earth could be wrong with it?!!!
Please - does anyone have any suggestions? Or does anyone know a digital piano man in South Wales who could have a look?
Thanks in anticipation

There isn't another fuse on the back of the piano or something is there, next to where the adapter plugs in?
Just a shot in the dark...

Have you accidentally caught the volume switch and turned it too low to hear?

Is the end of the adapter securely in the piano, it might have come out slightly.

Hi everyone
Wow, thanks for the quick replies. I've tried everything I can think of (it's coming close to an hour now). The volume is at the correct level, adaptor is in.... I seem to remember that a light normally comes on (any Kawai owners out there to verify?) so I'm guessing the electric isn't getting to the piano itself.............???!
Who on earth might be able to take a look? Would you suggest asking the local music shop?

Do you have a multi-meter? I guess you do, if you say that 19v is getting through the adapter. If so, it might pay to remove the cover and test to see if power is actually getting into the machine and, if so, how far. It sounds as if it's either another fuse which has gone, or a bad connection somewhere inside the piano.

Try seeing if it works from batteries?
Try seeing if it works when put back in the study, plugged into the original socket?
Either of these two tests might at least rule out some of the possible reasons.
A week or two ago, my TV remote control unit suddenly stopped working. I changed the batteries but it still didn't work, although the TV itself worked when operated from the set. Eventually I realised that a button on the remote control unit which can be switched from TV to Recorder had inadvertently been switched to the wrong setting. Has something like that happened?
