Full Version: How To Spend £100.00 Voucher On 'further Learning'?

Good news!

I've been awarded £100.00 voucher to spend as I wish. But there is a catch - I must spend it on 'furthering my learning, or on resources and materials'.

I have passed Piano, Violin and Theory at Grade 8, and I am slowly building up a library of sheet music.

My problem is - I cannot decide what to spend this £100 on.

Any ideas? All contributions welcome, however 'leftfield'.

Thanks,

What about a workshop? Something like this http://www.benslow.org/

You could spend it on some music and and some lessons.

Alternatively - towards a workshop or summer school.

Or, if you are thinking about taking a diploma, you could use it towards that.

Audio Recordings? Performances on DVD ? A series of Masterclass DVDs by the great and the good gone by? Tickets to performances? Put it towards recording equipment?

Actually I wouldn't rush to spend it , when at the moment you clearly don't feel to be in need of anything. At some point you will become of aware that you 'could do with' something and may not have the cash to hand. Bank it for the time being and earn a bit of interest on it if possible.

Sorry- Just realised it's a voucher. How transferable is the voucher?

The voucher is not transferable really, it is simply a printed glossy A5 flyer with £100.00 written on it and the conditions. It must be spent on 'further learning, resources or materials' and that's as specific as it gets.

It has no expiry date either, although I expect it needs to be spent this year sometime.

Many thanks for the suggestions so far, all useful I think.

A Diploma is on the horizon, so the £100 could come in useful for that, in terms of lessons, sheet music or entry fees.

The idea of attending a workshop is very tempting though. I have considered them as a worthwhile venture for a while now but never taken the plunge. The link to the 'benslow' site was most promising - thanks lottie ;-)

I suspect that it's not a case of not having anything to spend the money on but there are so many things in your head. These decisions are hard sometimes. Just enjoy the prospect of spending the voucher.

Thanks notmusimum, sound advice, ... and yes you are quite right, my head is full of ideas.

I was wondering if others had better ideas, as all I could come up with was sheet music, exam fees etc. I certainly am enjoying the prospect of spending the voucher, it's a rare treat.

I know it all too well! I was the same when my Camera was injured about a year ago and I got the insurance money to buy a new one. I had sneekily bought one before the claim was settled. When the money came it was vouchers and I had to decide what I needed next. biggrin.gif It didn't take me long to figure it out though.
