Hi I'm sure this doesn't class as advertising as there is no cost involved and the event is in a public place. I hope so anyway.

If anyone in the harrogate area wants to spend a pleasant couple of hours in the park the York Concert Band is playing in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate between 3 and 5 pm. A wide range of music will be played. Come along and enjoy.

As long as it's not raining we'll be there and would love an audience smile.gif

It's our first concert of the year.

I would have loved to have come if I'd known about it sooner but I've already committed to something on Sunday sad.gif Please do post earlier next time you do one!!!

Sorry It was a last minute thought to post...

We have some more later in the year There's a Kendall weekend 3rd-5th July not sure of concert detail as I'm not going to be there.

12th July - Scarborough Spa. and to save me typing....

look here: http://www.yorkconcertband.co.uk/ smile.gif clarinet.gif

All outdoor ones are free but usually there's a bit of a collection (hat passed round kind of thing smile.gif )

The Riley Smith one is apparently a great venue and large so we've been asked to try to get bums on seats for that one... smile.gif Not sure on ticket costs - maybe on website.

Shame there's none in August, when I'll be next in the region sad.gif

Good luck with all your concerts Dawn : if you can find out if your Riley Smith concert is a charity concert or not, I'll put it on the forum calendar smile.gif
Tequila
Not sure it is .... Will try to find out.

Think maybe it is http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/tadcaster/charities.html (bottom of page).

My band conductor wants the audience more than the money... smile.gif Riley Smith will probably say otherwise dry.gif

I think the collections we take at the concerts are in the main for charity although some may go to band funds nto cover costs etc.

We've done concerts in aid of SNAPPY at christmas.

That looks plenty enough in the way of detail to add your concert to the calendar - thanks Dawn biggrin.gif

Good Luck with the concert, Dawn. Sorry I won't be in the area, although I do spend some weekends in Northallerton and that is not too far away.

They forecast sun on Monday, and I got rained on.

Maybe they've got Sunday's forecast wrong too. smile.gif

It's very nice and sunny here at the moment.

Hope it is the same in Harrogate...
barry-clari
Had your concert been down here, you'd have gone ahead...

Hope it was sunny, or at least not wet...

It hasn't rained here, so hopefully it was ok in Harrogate smile.gif

Thanks all biggrin.gif It wasn't so warm by 3pm this afternoon but it was dry!!!!! biggrin.gif I'd love to see all those sun dances in person. They were obviously highly effective!!!!!! smile.gif Concert went down well I think. Only a couple of small blips on my part. A few more slight ones accross the band too but don't think anyone would have noticed. It is difficult remembering where you are when you have repetitive bits or bars to count when your music tries to break free of it's tetherings....

And of course the acoustics are always different when playing outside which makes a bit of a difference if you don't hear cues etc that you are used to hearing.

I'm only being picky and a perfectionist here!!!!!! dry.gif

A good concert - the 1st of our year - many more on the way. Anyone Kendal way watch out for us on the weekend of the 3rd to 5th July. I won't be at this one but we are joining with the kendal band and one concert is going to be on the side of lake windermere..... NICE.

Very pleased you were all able to play, and that it all went well Dawn. I was thinking about you all this afternoon. smile.gif
