Hi everyone,

More trying to get everything organised for my move back home to Australia!

I am looking for teachers in West London to take on my students when I leave. I have some I travel to and some who come to me (in Acton). Right now I am just after some information about yourselves and contact details so that I can pass them on to the students.

If you're interested please send me some info about your teaching experience, student's achievements etc. along with which student/s you are interested in. A phone number and email would be good for those who can do the house visits and the same plus a postcode would be good for anyone who is in the Acton/Chiswick area for students to come to you.

Please email all of the above to pianolessons@hotmail.co.uk

Students who I visit:

Baker St - 6 Year old girl, Shows a lot of potential, lovely family, Saturday mornings, one hour £23.50

Chiswick - 2 Sisters, 6 and 9, very enthusiastic, practice well, wednesdays 4.15pm, 1hr 15mins £45

Ladbroke Grove - 2 Sisters, 8 and 11, oldest has done grade 1, younger keen to start exams, very friendly, mondays 5.30pm. They are french and have quite a lot of holidays away. two hours, £40

Students who come to me in Acton

Male, 30's, roughly grade 6 standard, likes learning classical repetoir, doesn't want to do scales/exercises/work on technique - just likes playing the songs! Tuesdays 7pm (not flexible), one hour, £30. Lives in Notting Hill and drives to lessons so any West London area would suit.

Female, 20's, working through Bastien book 3. Has fornightly lessons due to financial constraints, flexible times, £20 hour lesson.

Boy, 10, show's a lot of promise and enthusiasm. Likes jazz, currently looking at Christopher Norton Microstyles level 3. Would suit a teacher with experience in rock/jazz styles and teaching improvisation. Thursday 5pm (I believe they're quite flexible though), 45mins £25

Male, 20's, interested in pop/rock songs to play and sing. Would suit someone with experience teaching rock/jazz/improvisation. Time/Day completely flexible, one hour £30

Boy, 10, Just starting out, very enthusiastic about all music (always picks up my clarinet and guitar!), working through Teaching Little Fingers to Play. Friday 4.30 (I believe this could be flexible), 30 minutes £20.

Girl, 11, About to sit grade one, practices well and comes from a musical family. Friday 5.30 (may be flexible), one hour £30.

I am curious as to the different pricing arrangements? Presumably if teachers take on your pupils they will charge their own fees anyway?

Good question. I just wanted to show people what each student is currently paying so that they know whether it is in line with or close to their own prices. Obviously I wouldn't refer a £20 an hour student to a teacher who charges £40 an hour so I thought it would be useful information in trying to find the right teacher for the right student.

The reason that there are several different levels of pricing is that when I first started teaching in the UK I wasn't sure what to charge so I started low. I then did more research and thought more about the income I needed and raised my fees for any new students.

Shame, I used to live in Acton and could've done with more students who come to me as I do so many home visits! I just moved to southwest London 2 months ago and was trying to give my students to another teacher in the area. Some of my students went to a lady on Bromyard avenue, if you like I can find out her details.

That would be great if you could forward me her details, thanks! Have you had any feedback from your students on the new teacher?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have found a teacher for the Ladbroke Grove and Baker St students but I am still looking for all of the others. If you're interested please get in touch!
