I don't want him to rush to the next grade without exploring other things as well, I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for interesting things for him to play.
He can be a little impatient, and prefers things that sound like "proper music". For example for his exam (Trinity) he played Morning Ride and The James Bond theme. He really liked the Morning Ride as he thought it was proper music! He also said of his sister's clarinet playing (grade8) "I can't wait until I can play things like that". He also gets a bit fed up that in the school orchestra he never gets the tune, so something nice and tuneful.
Any suggestions?
