My exam session was on 2nd of June. Has anyone had any results from around then yet? Was hoping to be able to tell pupils when I saw them today, but it's not looking good. I'm particularly edgy this time after the last sessions disaster ill.gif (For anyone who was following that post BTW, at least another 2 teachers from my area had complained independantly about the examiners marking, and I received a letter from the board admitting he was marking low, and promising it would be looked into. Doesn't stop me fretting this time though! unsure.gif )

I'll take that as a no then! biggrin.gif

Still a bit early methinks - it is their busiest session afterall. I'd give it another 3 weeks yet...sorry. Could always call them and ask.
susiejean
3 weeks! eek.gif You jest surely? Thats MUCH longer than normal. I've never waited more than 2 weeks before. My pupils would crack up if we went back to the 5-6 week waiting times of old. ill.gif will keep you posted of any development.

I like your eek!
We're waiting for June 5th. doesn't get any easier does it?
susiejean
Certainly doesn't. And they were all asking me tonight. My G5 goes off to germany early Fri morning, and I assured her merrily that she would have her results before then. blush.gif
Everything crossed. wacko.gif

Actually come to think of it last summer I got my Grade 6 results about 2 weeks after the date - but I always felt that was because it was the end of the academic year and they were keen to get everything out and enjoy their summer.

Hope your results go well smile.gif

ohmy.gif 5 - 6 weeks for practical results? I don't ever remember having to wait that long. Practical results don't usually take longer than 3 weeks, unless there's a holiday within that time. It would be useful if AB could post on their online entry section when results would be issued - something similar to the way they announce the practical dates.

Good luck to everyone waiting for results this term. Hope the results don't take forever and are issued in a less random manner than previously!

My daughter's results took 7 weeks a couple of weeks ago- in the summer - and it was nothing to do with school holidays- they took 7 weeks to be released from the Board. The school centre (specialist music school) had complained about the conduct of the examiners and it seriously delayed the results.....

Would be great, wouldn't it? although I imagine it's much more difficult to predict, as it is in some measure down to the individual examiner returning the marks sheets, so much less under the control of the office.

Susiejean, best of luck this time round!

Been looking back. 12 day wait in Autumn term. Sitting at 16 days so far this time. My nerves are in tatters. ph34r.gif

Can anyone tell me why the examiner can`t write down the results in duplicate, and give the pupil their result on the day?

I've always assumed they are sent to the board to be moderated, but I could be completely wrong.

can i hit him over the head if the candidate doesn't get distinction?

Just received my LCM results - only a week after the exam ! Two distinctions - one at Step One and one at Grade One (both piano) ; really pleased as one of the candidates was very jittery and the other had only had a few weeks' work on the third piece, as the exam date was the earliest I've ever had.

I know this is an AB forum but I do find the LCM grades much more suited to the average and plodding type of candidate than the AB - examiner's remarks were precisely worded and the marking system was transparent.

I'll still use the AB syllabus, especially where the candidate shows above average commitment.

Sorry for the delay. Results came in late on Fri. G5 117, which will disappoint her a little, but that's what you get when you put no feeling in to the higher grades. G3's got 115 and 106. One of them always bombs in exams. Don't think there his thing. G1's 115 and 125. Really pleased about the 125. She came out of the exam in tears thinking she failed. Her mum said she was skipping and whooping all down the hall when I phoned and told her. Makes it all worth while. woot.gif

Well done Susiejean - that's a very respectable set of results. Congrats to all.
