I know quite a few people, and some friends are moving up with me

Yes! is St Jude's church still there? We had our carol service there one year, and I played the organ for it.

Wolverhampton has a progressive system of orchestras... I think there are maybe 5 for strings?
anyway this is the top one, and the hardest to get into
i'm not sure what we'll be playing... I'm trying to wrack my brains and I can only remember that they played finlandia once. I'm not even sure though.

haha no not at all. Well it's fascinating that the St Jude's tradition has continued - that could well be down to me. I had the idea of asking if I could practise there in lunch-breaks - and that was how it started. My own church was over the other side of town.

I was in Stafford House. Are the scholarship boards still there in the main hall? If so, my name should be up there. Just inside the left hand door as you go in. Silly me, actually this was in the Stone Age so it's probably all changed now. Don't suppose there is still a mini-music room under the stairs?

(I don't know that playing in a good orchestra is the most fun any musician can have though - that's a tad categoric - there are loads of other fun things, sessions, jams, busking, playing in a small group etc)
