I'd like to go to this event at some point but have just booked in for the Nottingham sax event in March 2010. It used to be called Nottingham saxday, but next year it's an entire weekend...bliss! (Friday to sunday). Tutors are Northern sax quartet, James Rae and Nicola Pennill, promises to be fab!
Re the RNCM saxday is it enjoyable for all levels of player? e.g beginners right up to diploma standard?
Can anyone tell me a bit more about how the day is structured?
thanks
Yes, sure

It caters for anyone from, I'd say, about grade 3ish up to diploma standard. There are various playing and listening sessions, including what is invariably an excellent evening concert : this year it includes Simon Willescroft and Vincent David.
The leaders of the various sessions are drawn from the Royal Northern's teaching staff, including Rob Buckland and Andy Scott (each year, Andy does a Sax Assault playing session, which is always well worth getting involved with

).
The day always starts (9:30am) with a massed saxophone choir, which everyone is welcome to play in.
I think you'd enjoy it saxgirl : hope to see you there!
