Hey guys! I'm trying to get hold of 'La Danse Macabre' by Saint-Saens (affectionately known as that Jonathan Creek tune). I've looked at loads of websites where you can buy and download sheet music but all I've found are orchestral/piano versions, but I know there is a version for voice and piano (and I think this was actually the original). Does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy?

Hi
It was indeed originally written for voice and piano, but two years after Saint-Saens re-wrote it for orcestra, which is why few places sell it, i've found a place in the US, although it wouldnt be cheap to post, unless you know anyone with an APO box who would let you have it sent to them.

I haven't tried to find it, but it was sung by the Ukrainian (I think) bass in the Cardiff Singer of the World song prize final. Wonderful.

Mmm, yes, I heard it on Cardiff singer of the world too - great stuff! There's also a wonderful recording of Susan Graham and Malcolm Marineau performing this, not sure what the link is, but I recommend listening to it.
