Hi Folks,

Wondering if there's anyone who can give me a little advice and possibly reassurance of the tempo of this piece. I know it's supposed to zoom along at a fast rate but I'm having trouble producing speed AND accuracy, especially in the 2nd half, the stride piano bit. It is safe at quaver 176 but I don't think I can get away with that steadier tempo for performance. Any suggestions? What do people think is the slowest tempo I can take this and still pull off the character of the piece?

Thank you smile.gif

This is a wonderul piece of course. Are you learning it from any particular syllabus?

By coincedence I shall be accompanying a theory pupil of mine who has prepared this for a grade 5 trumpet exam next week. And yes, it fairly zooms along. I am sure the piano part from this partiular arrangement is far harder than the trumpet part - but hey who cares, it's a great piece!
