I'm not sure how other people deal with this but I find the way that works for me is to draw a picture in my head of rolling hills. Tall blades of grass represent stacatto, smooth plains represent legato, chasms are silence... Am I weird?

For example a piece that starts staccato and forte, then decrescendos to legato and piano, then ends staccato again would look like this in my head..

I don't remember, I forget. ph34r.gif

Your rolling hills picture thing sounds good, so I'll try that next time.

I just think I'm a more visual, abstract person so find it easier to remember pictures smile.gif You can split the picture for hands as well... but meh, if it's a "technique" that comes in handy, that's all good! biggrin.gif
