Hi! I am a beginner who has an old bow which when tensioned still has loose hairs on the outer edge of the hairs.

Is this something that can fixed or is it a sign that the bow was not re-haired properly?

You probably need a bow rehair! If you bought the bow used it may not have been rehaired in a long time. Take it to your local violin/bow shop. They should be able to do bow rehairs or direct you to a place that does. Hope that helps! Let us know what the diagnosis is!
