Hello all, I've been reading these threads for a while, but this is my first query, I hope you can help! I'm currently teaching in Birmingham, but haven't been living here very long (less than a year), so I'm really clueless when it comes to performance opportunities here for my pupils. Has anybody heared/had experience of the Birmingham music festival? is it worth entering my pupils (piano) for the experience of performing in public? or do you know of any other better festivals nearby? Thanks for any advice!

Never heard of Birmingham, but Northfield and Dudley are both quite big. (The festivals not the towns!)

There used to be one at Lichfield that I did as a child, I don't know if that is still going. We also did Reddich, Oxford, Cheltenham and Solihull. They could all be going still, but are a bit far from where we are now.
