I'm really finding these accents hard. Sometimes I can get a forte accent out (just) but I can't play it piano which the piece requires because the bow is not fast enough. More tips please >.>
Thanks!

Hi, all i do is simply play it quieter, perhaps less pressure on the bow. I don't normally find this a problem, but everyone seems to have different problems. I'm not sure how i do it, but perhaps more gentle bowing, but not necessarily slower. Maybe like when your playing ordinary laud and quiet. Then just play it more streessed. Hope this helps. wacko.gif just practice!!!!!

I don't wish to sound hypercritical Terra, but I think you are being a little hard on yourself. You are new to playing the violin and these things take time, years in fact!

At this point in your learning, a rudimentary understanding of an accent is all that's required. Your skills are still in their infancy and the main concern now should be improving tone quality, using the full bow where necessary and being able to divide up the length of the bow equally to fit in the requirements of legato notes.

Only with full mastery of basic bow control will you be able to learn the nuances of bowing techniques.
