Clearing the snow and ice from in front of our house. We're right on the pavement, and just at the bottom of a hill, and when it's icy people tend to gather speed as they walk down - by the time they get to our house they going faster than they want to, so an ice-free patch gives them a chance to slow down smile.gif

That is/used to be set for Grade 7 - more for the challenge in playing emotionally and expressively than any real technical difficulty.

It's a lovely piece though...I've been playing through most of the Kinderszenen pieces again recently, and it's one of my favourites. smile.gif

Have you been playing any of the others?

I'm playing the first one (Von fremden..) at the moment and almost have that nailed biggrin.gif

I've had a little bash through some of the others but not too serious yet - the last thing I need is yet more backlog, although I will tackle the Traumerei once I've finished the Chopin "Raindrop" Prelude (missypiano's fault - I *must* learn that now) tongue.gif You're right though, The Kinderszenen is a lovely collection, glad I bought it!

Funny how my recent repertoire expansions have been the fault of other forum members... namely Tom Piano, missypiano and DaisyChain. I'm sure my teacher thinks I have ADHD now seeing as I'm flitting from one piece to another all the time! tongue.gif

Just begun Unit 8 of my OU Java course. The official calendar says we don't need to start Unit 8 until Saturday, but we have a tutorial that day and I'm determined to get ahead, seeing as at the last one the tutor got me rattled by assuming we'd all done Unit 5 even though that was ahead of the calendar... wacko.gif

Amazing Family Research On-Line and I found a tree which links my ancestors right back to the year 645!!! I got as far as my 38x great grandparents. I've even got a family Coats of Arms! I am so excited to find I am related to Lords and Ladies in UK castles and they even owned whole counties and islands! Now to go and claim my share laugh.gif

Wow!

I love doing family history research and am lucky enough to've been able to go to the Cathedral here and look at some of the original registers and documents for the Kentish part. I've been doing on-line stuff too, but find some of the IGI stuff hilarious. I suddenly found once that I was related to Henry VIII through his wife Jane Austen laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif And they're not always too picky about noting whether people died, so it's possible to find that the person one thought was one's great-great-great grandfather actually died when he was 6 sad.gif And it's soooooooo frustrating when a trail just stops mad.gif
