Having a potentially very exciting meeting about plans for a free school - a primary school with a music focus (music every afternoon - yay).
That sounds wonderful. Good luck.

At a Diamond Jubilee Street Party Planning meeting - this means several glasses of wine and trying to take notes as I'm doing the Minutes!! Even if it pours on they day, we have had fun getting to know our neighbours planning our street party; in fact I think it might become an annual event even without the excuse of a Diamond Jubliee!

I was at the Department for Education taking part in an interview for a free school to be set up.

If successful, it will be the first of its kind - a primary with music every afternoon (and it will also be a centre for training other primary teachers in music).

Keep everything crossed, guys...

I really hope that it works out well (and is going strong when I am qualified and looking for a job!).

It's not my plan (although I do have a similar one) but that of one of the Guildhall mums. I'm a patron of the yet-to-be-established school (me and Charles Hazlewood blink.gif wub.gif !!!) so I was asked to go along and explain Kodaly to The Suits *lol*.

We did tell them that people are queueing up not only to send their children there but also to teach there!

Hopefully it will be a model for others across the country..

I was just teaching my G7 pupil. I have to do this mental flip on a Monday, from 3 beginners in a row, and 1 laid back G3 to a G7 standard. Reminds me of the days when I used to teach Y6s for a double lesson, and then Y13 for a single at the end of the afternoon. Arrgh! wacko.gif

I take it you have access to a telescope of some sort? The moon's not quite at dichotomy tonight and with a bit of twilight in the sky, I think it makes the moon more interesting.

No. One of my ex-pupils was a runner and he came round for a revision session and brought the torch to show me. It was soooooooo cool. I really didn't expect to get that excited about it, but somehow I did.

Oh! I WANT a Tribble! I want, I want!!!

And I love Spock too...

One of the cool things about the re-runs at the moment is that a Trekkie geek pops up at the end of the episode, giving some trivia about the following one (recently it was that the following episode was the only one in which Captain Kirk's top didn't have a black triangular neck).

I think perhaps I should get out more.

Cyrilla, there's a website just for tribbles and they appear at Trekkie Conventions (www.tribbletoys.com). I think ours came from the time we were visiting Las Vegas many years ago and there was a Star Trek exhibition at one of the big hotels. It's a good job it didn't start making its funny little noise in the luggage going through customs laugh.gif
