I just got the results for my grade 5 flute, and I passed... with a merit!!!!

Am a teeny bit disappointed, since the last (and only) other exam I've done was grade 3 flute, which I got distinction for, and 92/100.

I only just scraped a merit- 76/100 but apparently it was a VERY harsh examiner, who failed several people who should've definitely passed.

But considering I came out in tears because it had gone so badly, I'm still very happy biggrin.gif

And now my friends can't tease me for being a music boff.

So it's all good. Ahh, I'm so happy. blush.gif

A merit may not be a distinction, but it's still really good and definitely something to be proud of. smile.gif

Wow! I didn't think I'd get so many responses blink.gif . Guys, I am truly touched biggrin.gif

Haha, my friend took her grade 2 piano on the same day as my flute, with Trinity. We compared results today, and she got 96!!!!!!!! She lost 4 marks on sightreading, and full marks on everything else! ohmy.gif Kinda made me feel bad for a while, but she has been playing for nearly 4 years.

Still, I'm really happy again now smile.gif

But isn't that amazing? She was incredibly modest about it all day, and wasn't annoying and saying "Oh don't it's not that good. Don't tell everyone!" She just knew exactly how to react to all the compliments and praises. I kinda told all my friends... but they all went up and said congrats, and she was happier than ever smile.gif

Oops, sorry, didn't see this.

Nope, I haven't got them yet. Still got another couple of weeks.

That's the annoying thing about AB. But I did prefer taking the actual exam with them, the atmosphere was a lot calmer. In Trinity it was all "Come on! Get your books on the right page! Shush! Go and warm up! Hurry! We're running late!" This might have just been the stress of a higher grade though...
