Manchester's famous 'Curry Mile' a bus ride from the college, been there many times as my eldest son lives in Manchester, not too far away.

OK. smile.gif

We don't have to go for curry if there are people who don't really go for it, I'm sure we can find an alternative smile.gif

Not a problem for me, honestly, I will be perfectly happy with something mild and anyway most places can rustle up some fish and chips! smile.gif

Is anyone up for a meal after the Manchester version of this playday? smile.gif May have to dash fairly sharpishly after the London one, but I'll let people know... smile.gif

As post-playing curry seems to have struck a chord for the Manchester outing, how many people who are going to the London playday would be up for a group meal? Or do you all feel that just going home, kicking shoes off and relaxing on respective sofas with beer and takeaway is a better idea? unsure.gif

I might be up for a group meal. smile.gif I'll have a parent with me, but they both like eating so that is ok! tongue.gif
Last time we went to a concert in the evening, but that is a bit late when then travelling back on the train now I have to be back and competent on Sunday mornings! A meal would be good though, depending on who else is available!

Just had an email from Shea Lolin, saying that the numbers going to the Manchester event are still quite low at the moment. If you are free on 30th January, it'll be an event well worth visiting. Applications are open 'til the 8th January. smile.gif

Perhaps he needs to advertise it around the local Music Services. A stress that it's all woodwind instruments might help. I suppose holding it on a day when the Juniors are not tied in to the conservatoire might have got some more takers.

Hopefully a few more last minute forms will come in before the closing date : apparently the London version gets several last-minute forms.

Hi Barry

Could I join in you for meal on that day? (London one 23 Jan)
Just 2 weeks away, so looking forward to see you all.

By the way, I have not received any music yet. Is it normal? They are waiting for all applicants until closing day then decide which music they go...? unsure.gif

The first time you'll see the music will be on the day. Shea usually sends an information email out a week or so before the event, with extra details.

After floating the idea of a group meal afterwards, I have to make a getaway instead sad.gif Don't let this stop anyone organising something, or just a spontaneous takeover of a nearby eating establishment.

Should still be time for a swift beverage though smile.gif

If you put flute as an option on your form, there's a good chance Shea will ask you to play it, as these events tend to be clarinet-heavy. If you didn't, drop Shea an email, and he should be able to put an extra clari pad together. Failing that, we can always share a stand if you'd rather play clari. smile.gif
