Well i got my results this morning for the half a dozen students i entered for the jazz exams.

3 Distinctions
2 Merits
1 Pass

I was very pleased with my students hard work, for some of them its been hard getting use to the concept of improvisation and interpretation of the written heads. Looking forward to prepraing them now for the next lot of exams in the summer and helping my other students who are ready to take the plunge.

I know the jazz exams are relatively new but surely............

I'm sure they'll catch on soon... my piano teacher is thinking of putting one of her students in for a jazz exam, because he keeps improvising around all his "classical" pieces!!!
