That's fine. I'll bring one (I can conduct without if we're really low on stands) smile.gif

I'll do a reminders post tonight, after my teaching activities... smile.gif
barry-clari
And here is your reminders post! biggrin.gif

You need your instrument(s) and, if you can bring one, a music stand. All music will be provided (we'll try to cover 5 or 6 pieces).

Nearest station is Greenwich (Southeastern and Docklands Light Railway), there is no engineering work on either of these lines on Saturday.

Cafe Rouge is booked for afterwards (it's just down the road from the community arts centre where we're playing - we're in room 3 in the arts centre).

And I think that's all : see you Saturday! yay.gif
andante_in_c
Looking forward to it. biggrin.gif

Me too! I will be in London tomorrow most of the day, so if anything urgent comes up, I won't get an email but I think Barry has my mobile phone number. I don't think I can manage a music stand, as I will be bringing one or two other things, apart from an overnight bag as well, but I will check tomorrow morning when I pack.

See everyone on Saturday biggrin.gif

I have indeed got your mobile number, if there are any last minute things, I'll drop you a text smile.gif

See you Saturday! smile.gif

Just to let you all know that the last time I'll be online before the playday will be tomorrow at around 7:45-8am. If you then have any last minute queries, give me a bell/text on my mobile. smile.gif

I hope you all have a fantastic time! I would really love to be there, but found out this week that as well as my daughter playing in her string orchestra she has been picked to play 2 solos (out of 50ish kids - she is only 7) so I couldn't miss that, even though I will be a nervous wreck!

So have a great day, and hopefully you will repeat it some time soon when I can join you

Thanks 2childmum smile.gif , and as South East London is the barry-clari home patch, I hope to do more things in the area in 2010. smile.gif

Now home after walking off the train almost straight to the concert tonight. Altogether a very busy but enjoyable day. Thank you Barry and Ros for the hard work of doing the preparation and conducting. I look forward to the next one.

Home and VERY wet - and that was just the walk from the train to the car in the station car park. The guard took one look outside and declined to get off the train at my station. laugh.gif

I'm glad people had a good time and enjoyed my contributions. Thanks very much to barry-clari as always for the lion's share of the hard work. Thought the Cafe Rouge was a brilliant venue for a post-event meal too. smile.gif

Thanks onion, and everyone else for your kind words. smile.gif I will have a chat to the people who run the venue in the new year, to check availability for spring and summer 2010. smile.gif

I want to add my thanks to Barry and andante_in_C for all the preparation, and all the effort in trying to keep us in order! It was a great day, and helped to further my aspirations to one day play in an orchestra. However, I don't think I can ever encounter a fermata again without thinking of Barry downing an orange juice in one go laugh.gif

It was also good to meet a number of new people for the first time, some forum members and some friends of forum members, but I may not remember all the double names (I think someone was called "friend of muffinmonster" smile.gif )

Meal yummy biggrin.gif .

Had a great time. Thanks very much. We cellos particularly liked 12 days of Christmas because we had such nice parts (it also has to be admitted that we did get better as the afternoon went on!)

Thanks Barry and andante in c - a really enjoyable afternoon. Put me down for the next one.

Late as usual...

Thanks to barry-clari for organising, and barry and andante_in_c for conducting and arranging! A very enjoyable afternoon, and the clarinet had some much-needed exercise. It was good to meet people and put faces to the names - and real names to the forum names smile.gif
