sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif My daughter has just joined a string orchestra, but guess when their concert is!!!!!

She is only 7 so I can't not go to her first concert.

I was looking forward to this soooooo much!

When will the next one be?!!!

If there's enough support for this first venture, I'll do another one sometime in 2010. Can't be any more specific than that at the moment, it'll depend on what I'm doing and fitting around other forum events. smile.gif

I am sorry - looks like I am also not sure now.
My daugher has joined in local Junior Choir and the concert is 28 Nov! Yes, it is the first concert too!!
Only concert is ok, I thought I could manage to come both, however it will be combined christmas concert by junior choir and Orchestra.
I have been asked to cover oboe part, if I do so I have to stay rehearsal for my daughter....

Apologize again, I will talk to Choirmaster Wednesday evening then will find out more.

How many people will be there? It is so pity, such a nice oppotunity to meet new people..... sad.gif

I will be there biggrin.gif

Doesn't necessarily follow that trains from your part of the world will be as expensive as trains from Claudia's part of the world : I still think it's worth a look. smile.gif

I'll bear it in mind biggrin.gif : but if a lot of people want to play one or two Christmas things on 28th Nov, I'll dig out a couple of things. Gotta love Sleigh Ride biggrin.gif

I won't be at this one as I'm only just working towards Grade 1.

It's probably just as well I'm not eligible to come as I'm going to be joining in National Novel Writing Month and there will be three meetings in London in November as well as all the writing, but I would love to meet all you folks. Maybe there'll be another playday next year and I'll have made enough progress to come. That's certainly an incentive to improve.

I hope you all have a good time. I'll look forward to hearing how it goes.

I am very sorry - I am not able to come to Orchsatral playday. sad.gif

As I mentioned you before, it is our daughter's first junior Choir concert and I am in their orchestra to cover oboe part.
We have a rehearsal in the afternoon on that day...

I was so looking forward to join in and meet new music friends - but our daughter's concert is also very important to me.

Apologize again and I really hope you all have a fantastic time!

I surely join in next one!

Hopefully, I'll do another Greenwich one in 2010, hope your daughter's concert goes well! smile.gif

I've only just caught up with the fact that you have a date planned. It's not ideal as I have pupils performing at our church's Christmas Tree Festival that morning, but I could probably come if you don't mind me being a bit late. How far is the venue from Greenwich Rail Station? I don't fancy trailing a cello too far!

A bit late is fine Suepea. smile.gif

It's literally about 90 seconds walk! Turn right out of the station, and it's a short distance down the road on the right hand side. smile.gif

The Jubilee Line will not be operative between Stanmore and Waterloo, which could affect some people.

Glad to know the venue is close to the rail station.

No Circle line at all, and no District between Whitechapel and Earl's Court that weekend either, so you'll need to seek an alternative route to the obvious one to Charing Cross if you're arriving at Victoria. It'll probably be easiest to change at either East Croydon to go to London Bridge or Clapham Junction to Waterloo if you're coming from Surrey/Sussex. smile.gif

Just checking in to see what's happening on this event. Can I add my 'Yes' to Christmas music?

Will the form be put up on the forum here as a download?

Just to add to Barry-Clari's comment about the website. There's a small technical problem I'm waiting for the service provider to fix. Once that's done, I'll be able to put the link to the page online.

Apologies, but having said I could come, I've now been bumped up to 1st Clarinet at my Orchestra (The 2nd part was too difficult for me so you can imagine what I think of the 1st part) anyway our concert is on the Thursday after the playday and it's quite likely we'll have an extra rehearsal scheduled for that weekend - which I will definatly need.

Sorry if that sound like a feeble excuse - I do feel bad about it having said I'd come and then pulling out. Looking at the replies I think you are going to be OK for Clarinets - although with so many multi-instrumentalists it's difficult to work out who will be playing what.
