Hi everyone,
Its me again after a long time. Was busy preparing for masters and lost contact with abrsm forums. Have loads of free time now and am seriously thinking of taking LTCL some time next year. Pieces are in order as i have been working on them intermittently over the past 2 years. Having a dilema over the last piece though. My teacher wants me to do debussy toccata from pour le piano, so i've obliged and learnt the piece though m not that crazy over it. Would actually like to end with the scriabin etude 8/12. Have learnt the notes on my own but its still a bit slow. Any ideas, as i want to play it well for her so that she will be convinced that i could pull it off for the exam. BTW my program is as follows, Bach toccata in G , Beethoven les adieux, Chopin ballade 2 and either debussy or scriabin. Any ideas , comments ?

Well that looks to be a nice well balanced programme provided it 'times' OK. Either the Debussy or Scriabin will be fine to finish, I actually prefer Scriabin to Debussy but thats down to personal taste.
I'd love to be able to play that programme, I know all the pieces and I can probably struggle through , but not to performance standard! Good luck !

Thanks f#m. I will be playing the scriabin for teach this Saturday. Hope i dont turn scriabin into a scream. M doing lots of octave exercises to beef up the LH. Will let you know what happens soon.

Played the scriabin for teach yesterday. Was'nt too badly done if i may say so myself. Teach did'nt have much to say except to make the RH sing more. She thinks i should end with the debussy though. Claims the scriabin does'nt gel with the rest of the programme. Then there's that timing problem you were talking about. Havent yet decided what to do. Drats debussy is soo tedious.
