Hello All!
I'm an aspiring clarinettist with an interest in theory and composition. I also play a bit of sax (very badly with a clarinet emouchure) for fun.

Hello, welcome to the forums!

I'm also a clarinettist, and I also have this tendency to treat a saxophone like a clarinet. I always get told off for that at the annual Royal Northern College Saxophone Day in Manchester laugh.gif

Hope you have fun here! smile.gif

Pleased to meet you Mole (and I do like your binary joke) and madbassoonist.

Thanks Barry-clari .
Its a comfort to know that it's not just me. I do try but habit takes over every time.

It sounds like you're like me - very overtly a clarinettist. I have to think very hard about playing sax with a sax embouchure, still...

But the sax is still great. And playing in the Sax Assault session each year at the Royal Northern is amongst the highlights of my year... biggrin.gif

Hi DaisyChain.

..and Barry-clari that's the second time you've mentioned the sax day... where can I find out more?

It's on November 15th this year, at the Royal Northern. A full day of all things saxophone, including plenty of playing, listening to some top, top sax players, and plenty of trade stalls.

Have just looked at the RNCM website : full details aren't up yet, but click here to see how the saxophone day traditionally starts. smile.gif

OK, flippancy aside, my name derrives from my passion that I have developed over the last 10 years and the moo comes from part of a nick-name that I have had for so long that it has become part of how I see myself. The combination gives a good ( I think) name that reflects how I feel and who I am. The fact that it has a slightly self -depricating element (see above) accurately reflects another part of my real character. So there you have it
Proud to be
Carimoo. smile.gif
