Hello everyone
I'm new to the forum.
I'm singing Mozart's Laudate Dominum at a wedding soon without a choir, and have never sung it without a choir before, though it seems that a lot of brides are asking for this song at their wedding.
Does anyone have a suggestion for what to do during the choir section of this piece, as it's fairly long? If this is sung without the choir do you cut out the entire choral section and jump to the soloist's "Amen" cadenza at the end, or does the organist play something for the choir section? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks!

There is a solo arrangement in Neil Jenkins' "Sing Solo Sacred" (OUP), which might be a book worth buying if you're performing at lots of weddings. That arrangement fits in most of the soprano part of the choir section, just moving the start of the choir / solo entry forward or back to accommodate - hmm - not very clear - you'd need to look at it!
Or - before I got that book, I performed it at a wedding with a cut from the end of bar 42 (where the choir enter) to the start of the Amen in bar 63. Seemed to work fine as I recall.

Agree with the suggestion about "Sing Solo Sacred". Useful resource for singing at weddings - but I've just gone and agreed to
duet the Bach/Gounod Ave Maria with my wife in a couple of week's time!
