Hi all. My name is Stephanie and I have been reading for some time, but just joined today. I am currently working on my grade 8 piano and grade 6 theory ameb. (i know this is a abrsm forum but there's nothing for the ameb and there is still a lot of good info here). I have allowed myself 10 years to get the teaching deploma. I am 31, have 2 children so don't see getting a degree an option, but think the deploma is possible. My lessons are rewarding, exciting, confronting and challenging but I am so glad that I finally started doing what I love again after a 5 year break from playing and a 10 year break from lessons. currently working on the bach wtc prelude and fugue and chopin prelude in e minor. minor. fugue in c minor from book 2 and the chopin prelude minor. e minor, and then will choose pieces for grade 8, which I will sit for in 2 years.

Hi piano lady! Im kinda new too. Was pretty much in the same boat musically as you, a few years back, but have now progressed a bit and am planning on doing a diploma next year. Enjoy practising, but be careful not to injure yourself.
