All my moaning and groaning about failing my grade one exam have finally evaporated into the mists of time. I have been away for a few weeks and when I returned II spoke to my music teacher who informed me that I had a reasonable pass. I couldn't believe it I seem to have performed so badly.
It seems that some of the wise ones on here (they told me not to count my chickens before they were hatched) were smack on.

Off on holiday in about a weeks time and then it is getting back down to more practice. I hope the sun continues to shine.

Thanks guy's
It realy was a boost to my confidence. Looking forward to the next one. I can say that now, knowing that it's going to be a long time until I do grade two. I will probably just as petrified as I was doing grade 1.

Looking forward to our holiday. We are away from this Friday, until Tuesday when working for a couple of days, and then sailing for a week on East Coast. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather.

Well done, David! clap.gif

I don't know if you've played over the break yet because you don't need to for Grade 1, but if not, I'm sure you'll have fun with that!

I must admit, I haven't done an awful lot since the exam. Nothing to do with my appalling playing on the day of the grading, but work wise I have been extremely busy working on my new website.
I have in fact started my morning practice once again I did an hour at 8.30 this morning (well nearly an hour) biggrin.gif but whose counting. I will continue to do so.

the only requirement is that for grade 6 or higher, you must have done grade 5 theory or practical musicianship; other than that, you can do the grades in any order you want.

Has anyone ever been mad enough to go back and "fill in" the grades they missed just for the certificates?

ie: After hitting grade 8, going back and doing skipped grades such as 2,4,6?

I know this probably sounds ridiculous but it's something I might consider doing eventually just so I can have all the certificates lined up along the wall!

I just place my latest certificate over the top of previous ones in the frame.
I have 4 on the wall with doing it that way.
