Hi, I'm doing the bach toccata in G for ltcl and have realised my edition ( urtext ) only has 1 single ornament indicated in the first movt. Most performances i've heard have loads of ornaments all over the place in keeping with the baroque style. Should I just add them in based on what i've heard or just stick to the text?

I think it might depend where the ornament is placed i.e at the end of a particular phrase. I've got this problem with a P+F so with the fugal entries the ornamentation appears in the same place each time even though its not written in the copy more than once.

Don't know if this helps with a toccata.
