Hi there. I would just like to let you guys know that I got my grade 2 piano results today. I wasn't expecting to to that well. Maybe get a slight bit above a pass. On the day I think that I was quite nervous. My hands were shaking lol, and I thought that my playing was not upto my usual standards. As for the sight reading and aural. I was not sure how I did in those sections. They seemed like a blur in the exam. The scales I was good at, as this is one of my stronger points. Also I seem to remember making quite a few mistakes in my pieces. That is why I thought that my marks would be on the low side. Any way I did pass in the end, and here is my score, broken down into the various sections:

Sight Reading 18
Aural Tests 18
Total Marks 133

I am very please with my marks. I have only been playing for around a year. With this bost in confidence I am now very keen to progress further with my piano studies.

Hi there. Thanks for the congrats . I skipped grade 1 on my teachers advice, and went straight for grade 2. I think that I wouald like to pace my self now, and not skip grades for a bit. I wil try and concentrate on my technique and playing, and hopefully develop these skills.

Congratulations! It's an excellent result and certainly a great boost for higher grades. I remember my feelings when I passed my Grade 3 back in 2007 (at 50 years of age) and it was great. I immediately felt like exploring the material for the next grade. My advice is now, don't rush it. Building up one's skills means laying a brick at a time so the foundation doesn't collapse in future.
