Hello. I want to take my (descant) recorder on holiday as I am studying for Grade 5 theory and want to check that what I have written for the compostition part is actually what I thought I had written (!) I normally play piano but that is not very mobile so I am taking my recorder instead. I have two problems though:
1) I haven't played the recorder for 30 years so I can't remember half the notes - can anyone point me to any online fingering charts that have a picture of the recorder on them rather than just a list of xs? (There is a good interactive Dolmetsch one but I need one that I can actually print out).

2) My recorder hasn't been played for 30 years! It is a cheap plastic one I'm afraid - can I wash it out?

Thanks!
Maizie
Here's the ultimate site for recorder fingerings: http://www.recorder-fingerings.com/en/index.php

You will want 'English fingering' over at the top left, soprano, chromatic, and then you can choose print version. Or, here is a direct link which might be easier!

A plastic descant will have no problem at all with being put in a sink with some water and a bit of washing up liquid.
Never ever do this if it has any wooden parts, but if it is all plastic, this is fine (I just have to write that, in case somebody someday reads this and it's my fault they put their grandad's pricesless handmade wooden something-lovely in the water...!)
