Hi please fogive my ignorance, but i was wondering about Clarinet and Saxophone duets. I started playing the Alto sax abouy 2 years ago, my wife started playing the Clarinet about 1 year ago, i know one is a Eb and one is a Bb.

Is there no way these can duet?

If not, could somebody explain in simple terms why not.

Thanks

They can duet. I did a clarinet/sax duet with Noodle last year.... Mozart as you've never heard it before. smile.gif
You can get music for clarinet and alto sax duet otherwise one of the parts needs transposing so that both instruments sound in the same key.
You might have to work on balance between the two instruments.

I've got a clari/alto sax duet book, called 'Two by Two' : I'll fish it out later and tell you what's in it smile.gif

Found it : compiled and arranged by Paul Harris, it includes pieces by Mozart, Lefevre, Purcell and the Marche Militaire by Schubert amongst others.

The book is published by Faber. smile.gif

I've got one (It's in the Winners Galore series by Peter Lawrance) http://www.musiccorner.co.uk/E-Flat-Horn-M...oduct_info.html

Almost any two instruments can play together as it has lots of parts and it tells you which part to play depending on which instrument you are playing with. The pieces are all very well known
eg Match of the Day • Bright Eyes • We Wish You A Merry Christmas • Easy Winners • We're Off To See The Wizard • Super Trouper • James Bond Theme.

Just looked it up and there seem to be three books in the series.
