I am a soprano, usually can comfortably sing top A and top Bb, but I had a very bad throat infection nearly a month ago where I completely lost my voice for a day and it was very sore the day after that as well. I also developed a very bad chesty cough. I couldn't sing higher than C above middle C for a couple of weeks after the throat infection. I can now sing to a top G (though it doesn't sound very nice at the moment) but I cannot sing above that at all.
I haven't sung for a while properly (since the start of July) - could I be out of practise, as before that I sang at least 3 times a week for two years? Please help. I haven't talked to my singing teacher yet as she is on holiday, but I will have a lesson with her soon.
