Exactly what it says on the tin, lets discuss the pieces, studies, orchestral rep, etc that we're all working on!

At the moment I'm on summer break from RSAMD, but I've been bombarded with stuff to learn! Popper studies nos. 21, 33 and 38, as well as Schumann "Funf Stucke im Volkston", Lutoslawski's Grave, Beethoven Cello Sonata No. 5 in D major, Bach Cello Suite No. 3 in C major, and finishing the Kodaly Op. 4 Sonata. Plenty to be working on before going back in just over 3 weeks time tongue.gif

dvorak's 4 romantic pieces, bach partita no.3, a bethoven sonata and various studies (schradieck, kreutzer, sevcik)
scifi-karis
Polishing Bach Sonata No. 1 in G minor - all four movements ... blink.gif Working through Shostakovich Violin Concerto at the moment. First movement down, three to go! Got the concertmaster part for Scheherazade so working through that as well!

Kreisler's Preleudium and Allegro;
Elgar Sonata in E minor (1st movement);

Trying to not let Bach Allegro Assai (Sonata 3) and the Schumann Sonata in A minor (1st movement) slip (it's a long time till March and I know I'm going to get seriously bored of these!);

Also supposed to be working on the Stravinsky Suite Italienne, but can't really be bothered as the Kreisler and Elgar are Schumann are so much nicer!

Probably need to take some guidance on studies: I have Schradieck and Dont and Kreutzer, and take them out every now and again, but never work on them with any particular structure! Lesson tomorrow, so probably should ask about this, as I know I ought to be looking at them properly!

Today I've been working on :

The Champaign Jig goes to columbia (from Liz Carroll's recording - it's really hard to figure out what ornamentations she's using in the second repeat of the second part - I may have to slow the recording down to get it)

The morning star reel (from Kevin Burke's album)

And I've also had some extra time, so I've replayed some Bach I haven't played for ages, just for fun.
