I've recently discovered Einaudi, and rather enjoy listening to his music, however I'd now quite like to learn some.
Can anyone direct me to any pieces around the grade 4 mark?
And also, what grade would you say 'Le Onde' falls around?

Thanks,
HC

I don't know about Le Onde, but you ought to be able to manage most of the stuff in the I Giorni book without too much trouble, I'd have thought. smile.gif If Le Onde is anything like the rest of it, it will be somewhere around grade 4/5.

I have an Einaudi book - can't remember the name, but it's the one with the glossy black cover! I thought that Passagio was one of the easier pieces - I found Le Onde harder (needless to say I gave up and just listened to it played properly on the CD!) I love his music though smile.gif

That certainly wouldn't work in Germany - we have a slight accusative-problem here wink.gif

I don't know how easy it is for you to get up to London, hc, but he's appearing at the Barbican on 24 October if you're able to get there smile.gif

don't know, i think we just like to do things the complicated way wink.gif don't despair, i can't keep my english sentences straightfoward and short, that always gives it away. there's hope however: i've recently been taught by an australian (who didn't know where i was from) that i have the "thickest scottish accent he's ever heard". i'm still not sure though if that should make me laugh or cry ...

i like einaudi, very relaxing, helps me to fall asleep - and i am, for once, not being ironic here ...

I feel as if I'm missing something... why is OK for some people to trash a serious thread like this one and yet when Voltron does nothing more than express his own personality or brand of humour in the cafe, he's pounced upon unsure.gif I'm not getting at anyone about going off-topic (obviously I do it myself, although I try not to actually trash a thread), but it just seems like double standards, particularly when some of the people posting trash in this thread have been amongst the most vociferous about Voltron. Sorry guys wink.gif

Einaudi must be very, very popular...the gig is a sellout, all the tickets have gone...

Resurrected this thread to tell you all that last night, missypiano, DaisyChain and I listened to the live recording of Friday Night is Music Night : special guest Ludovico Einaudi. And I thought he did a pretty decent job of the three pieces he played. smile.gif It's on listen again on the Radio 2 website. smile.gif

All the performers were excellent. What you don't get on the radio recording is the fact that the two xylophone players on 'The Two Imps' dressed up as imps for the occasion... laugh.gif
