Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has had experience of taking the Choral exams that ABRSM offer.

I have a little youth choir and thought we might take one of these but would appreciate anyone giving me some information on your experience of them.

Were they worth doing? Where did the exam take place? etc.

Have you thought about entering a music festival?

That way your choir will hear other choirs sing too and it is very likely that you will get an experienced choral adjudicator to listen to you as well as having a 'real' audience, I imagine the choral exam setting could feel a little uh...dry!

We already enter festivals and they love it. We also do public concerts but I just went to a ABRSM seminar yesterday and picked up the choral syllabus and it looked interesting.

As I know nothing about them I thought I would ask peoples opinion/experience etc.

We would love to come to your festival but sadly too far for us to travel I would expect.
