Another random question.

I am starting the GCSE music course this year and our teacher has given us all a questionnaire to find out a bit more about us. One of the questions looks like this:
QUOTE
Describe yourself as a musician in 4 words:
1.
2.
3.
4.
I have no idea what to write. I think I'm going to end up crossing out the bullet-point numbers and writing the sentence 'I play the piano'.

A challenge to the other forumites...

It depends what you think the others would write? I once totally misinterpreted an English task - it was to describe our homes....so I went along and wrote reams and reams of waffle describing every room in my house, to discover that everyone else had written something along the lines of "My home is a warm welcoming place"

Some slightly more sensible advice from me

Why not take a look at your most recent exam report sheet and use some of the words from there? eg my g.8 flute said "intelligent performance" - and then you could put as quoted from grade X marking sheet so that you don't sound full of it!

I like this one, though I'd probably put "Orchestra" (or Band or Choir if that's your thing) in place of the Yay - not sure teachers appreciate Yays!

You didn't hear my sight singing yesterday ... or my siren-ing up and down an octave, which in reality was up and down a seventh. Pretty clever really, I bet that I couldn't do that if I tried. I blame it on practising l to t, in a S&P for a conducting piece.

Well not if one "has aspirations".
Of course there is "fit for purpose" which equates to "good enough".

Well, I handed it in with the words 'I play the piano'.

Oh well, if she doesn't like it, tough!
Today in our lesson we also had to do a little 'musicianship test'. I finished it in about 4 minutes, which was annoying because I then had to sit there for another 10 mins

We had to identify notes in 3 different clefs, name major key signatures, write out 2 scales, put in some time signatures and identify 2 written-out tunes (without singing!) - which were Happy birthday (easy) and Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (which took me slightly longer!).
