I wondered if someone could tell me why Bach would be in list B of the piano syllabus (grade 5)? I thought list B was generally for the Romantic period?
Thanks.

It might be to make up for the fact that list A contains a late Romantic (Schytte), and two Early Romantics (Kuhlau and Hummel)...

It says in the teaching notes "Although the Baroque era is rarely represented in List B, the obvious expressiveness of this Andante - perhaps anticipating Romantic expression - makes it an appealing inclusion."
