Still happy to have a look at Top Cat, in case it's do-able by Saturday... Would need it in advance though...

Hrm, could do a Burgmuller study instead? probably easier?

Won't be around Tuesday, sadly, and it's the forum awards on Wednesday biggrin.gif, and I'll only manage to get in by 8pm...

I think the stick a copy in my email inbox method is the way to go Sol smile.gif

Yes I am getting a bit scared too now, I thought it was just a bit of a laugh, nothing serious!

I am not very good in playing in front of people, what I can play at home is another matter to outside!

So don't be too rehearsed!!

Don't be scared... it's not a concert smile.gif

I'm just trying to get a few different things together as it's about hearing how things sound on the piano smile.gif If I manage to play anything without stuffing up, it's a bonus, but I'm not worried about having to start from the beginning or just stopping and giving up halfway through because I've lost the plot - I understand completely about playing in front of others! wink.gif

Barry and I will be doing a piece together (1 hand each) which probably won't be rehearsed much (if at all)... LOL it'll be chaos I think, but we will try! biggrin.gif

Also, does anyone fancy a bit of Jazz Improv? could get 2 or 3 people at it!

Don't worry everyone! The same's happening for me, every piece I am playing is suddenly going downhill and I totally anticipate having to re start some pieces. I just keep thinking god I am so rubbish!

All my pieces only last a total of 10 mins so if we end up taking turns I am just going to repeat what I have already played the 2nd and/if possible 3rd time round so by the third attempt it might sound better! (I am hoping) ill.gif ill.gif ill.gif

Has anyone got a hip flask? Then we can all have a swift swig of brandy or something before we start!

That's the whole point - it doesn't matter if you have to start again! No one will think anything of it wink.gif

Drunken playing could be "interesting" tongue.gif Better to wait for drinks afterwards as I'm sure we will all be a bit shaky.

Don't think you are rubbish. Go over the pieces as slowly as necessary with the correct fingers and in time, not daring to make a mistake, then leave it for a day to sink in smile.gif

I played my jazzy piece for the jazz evening when I was at Pro corda last weekend, it was very interesting as I had drunk a glass of wine and a glass of champagne first - well at least I had a good excuse for going wrong then! lol

I wish I could even have a small sip of something whilst playing but it's just impossible. I have to be totally focused and really concentrate and I still make all those mistakes! I have turned into a tea total nowadays, seeing as I practice every night. eek.gif

I can hold my drink quite well, actually. Years of training! biggrin.gif I'm bored with hangovers these days though so don't drink much at all anymore. It was great, will be back again next year. There are some advanced players but I have never felt intimidated, it is nice to hear how I hope I will play one day.

This year we had a lady that was Grade 1 and I am sure that she got just as much out of it as I did.

You should take a look at their web site, Andrew thinks I am recruiting for Pro Corda singlehanded, got 2 new ones for him this year - shame I am not on commission lol

Andrew is brilliant and so are the teachers that he brings in. It is Adult piano, I think for the other courses not aimed at adults you have to do auditions to go.

Good luck with the sight reading course, I have never had any problem with sight reading, I think it is because I am always picking up new things and having a go. Mind you, sounds like you are always picking up new things on your own without your teacher, so yours must be quite good too.

Looking forward to Saturday.
